To facilitate the planting of 12,000 rapidly multiplying churches that
proclaim the Gospel from house to house among German descendants in
Brazil. These churches will most often meet in homes consisting of 2 to
3 families who form a church by covenant. In urban areas and among the
wealthy these churches may be larger, due to lack of physical
restrictions. By and large the house churches will consist of people who
have come from a secular, nominal, or folk Catholic background who have
come to faith in Christ. Conversion will often occur, not simply by
repeating the ‘sinners prayer,’ but through discipleship that begins
even prior to conversion.
Leadership will be voluntary
and come from within each locality. Teams of church planters who have
proven themselves faithful and who are gifted by the Holy Spirit will
train others, who will train others, to begin new churches. Through
these teams of church planters the Gospel will be abundantly sown and
new churches and new networks formed. The churches in these networks
will be encouraged to meet together for joint worship. There is no need
to buy land or build buildings so the financial burden is lighter. The
churches will provide sacrificial gifts for evangelizing and the
planting of new churches. The goal is to reach 12,000 churches so that
there is one church planted for every 500 people.
Training will occur through small
groups that meet to pray, study the Word, worship, and observe the
Lord’s Supper and baptism. New leaders will be selected from among those
believers that demonstrate faithfulness and meet the character
qualifications found in 1 Timothy and Titus. From these will be selected
individuals in order to train as church planters and/or strategy
coordinators. Each will be placed in leadership according to their
spiritual gifting as recognized by the churches.
Meetings may occur completely in
Hunsriker or Portuguese, or a combination of both. In Spanish speaking
communities this might also include Spanish. An oral Bible will be the
principal means of abundant Gospel sowing among Hunsriker speakers.
Where German descendants are more assimilated, Portuguese will
predominate. Both storying and literate means will be implemented where
applicable. Where new Germanic languages are found, strategies will be
developed to abundantly sow the Word in order to plant churches. Music
will be culturally relevant reflecting both heart language and world
view.
As evidence that these churches will
be a force of kingdom expansion, there will be a definite transformation
of life as they return to the God of their forefathers. There will be
less isolation among the Germanic peoples, passion for God, and desire
for all people to know Him. They will come weeping, sorry for their sins
and confessing that Jesus is the Christ and that God has raised him from
the dead. Every believer will become a full participant in the Great
Commission.
Racism will be out and bars emptied.
Fathers will be in their homes providing spiritual leadership and love.
Fornication and adultery will cease and fidelity abound. A man’s word
will be of more value than a legal document. Families will be governed
by the love of Christ and his commands. Father’s will discipline in love
and not out of annoyance. Honesty will govern all transactions.
Strangers will be treated with respect and kindness. Idolatry and
witchcraft will be out and God alone praised. Christ will be seen as
their priest and the only one who can forgive sins. Mary will be
respected for her faith but not prayed to or worshipped. They will
fervently pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ and will no
longer pray to the dead asking for anything. They will know that the
Holy Spirit lives in them and that they are the temple of the living
God. Miracles will take place. Suffering and persecution will as well
but they will persevere for the cause of Christ. They will know that
they have both authority and responsibility to proclaim the Gospel of
Christ: make disciples, baptize them, and pass on all that they have
learned about Christ to faithful men. |
